We Should Cocoa ~ The March Challenge

Hi there.  Time for another We Should Cocoa challenge to be issued and I am suspecting that a few of will be hoping thinking I'm going to select something for Mother's Day.  Sorry!  Being an Aussie girl I don't celebrate Mother's Day until the second Sunday in May ... selfish I know, but that's just the way it is lol.  Although thinking about it, is it only the UK the has Mother's Day in March?  Instead I thought it might be fun to tip our culinary hats in the direction of Ireland and help them celebrate St Patrick's Day by creating something green.   Yes, you read right.  I said green ;0)

The 'green' is pretty much open to interpretation ... maybe green food colouring or a green food stuff (good luck combining chocolate and broad beans into a mouth watering offering!) but I'm afraid that anything offered up as environmentally friendly and therefore green will not be cutting the mustard.  Good luck and have fun ;0)

Also new this month is a slightly different way for us to run the challenge.  Choclette and I have been suffering the curse of technology in recent months and as a result entries have been missed off our round ups.  In an effort to solve this little situation we're going to give Mr Linky a try.  So all you need to do is play along as normal, but instead of sending us an email with all the details for your post all you have to do is pop back here and add your details to Mr Linky ... which you should hopefully be seeing at the bottom of this post ... if you don't see it then it is safe to assume that technology has gotten the better of me once again!

OK guys ... plan B is now in action!  Sorry to all who have tried to use the Mr Linky, for some reason it isn't showing me any of the links already submitted so I am trying out another linky option ... could this be the dreaded terrible two's we were told to expect at the WSC birthday party lol

    1. Fear not ;0)
There will still be a round up too, we're just trying out the linky option in place of the email route to see if we have a bit more success in getting everyone included in the round ups.

  3. Well done for getting Mr Linky on board Chele - I'm crossing fingers it works OK. Guess I'd better go and update the WSC page! Have no ideas about green at all, completely stumped! Hopefully inspiration will assert itself at some point ;-)

    1. Bugger! Doesn't look like Mr Linky is working for me as I can't see your link. I knew it appeared on the post too easily! I'll look into it this weekend and see if I can get it working. Please bear with me.

  9. Green?!? Another head scratcher of a month - I'm therefore hoping that next month's challenge will be simply be something like "biscuits" or "cake". Looking forward to giving Mr Linky a try, if it works it must be easier than sifting through all those emails!

  10. What a challenge! Green! Okay, I am up for that.....just as an aside, I am rather proud of our British Mother's Day, as it is the ONLY one in the world to be non-commercial and linked to old customs and the yearly calendar...so I may combine my green for St Patrick's day and Mothering Sunday!
I am IN and thanks for hosting!

  17. Ive got an idea for my entry but does the end result have to be visibly green? What I've put in it is green but the nature of it makes it chocolate coloured.

    1. Hi Hannah - yep, you can use a green ingredient for this challenge, doesn't matter if the finished product is green or not so long as you have used something green in it.

  23. Apparently the Linky Tools servers are down, so it won't let me add my entry to the link-up (serve me right for leaving it to the last minute, hah!).
I'll try the link-up again later, but in case it doesn't work properly again before the deadline, here's my entry: http://sharkyovengloves.wordpress.com/2012/03/24/mint-chocolate-chip-muffins/
